Px3 & Google share the stage for Warwick Business School at The Shard

Dr Sutton-Parker & Michael Wheeler Wyatt speak at Warwick University’s Annual Executive MBA Sustainability Lecture

On Wednesday 23rd November 2022, Dr. Sutton-Parker will join Michael Wheeler Wyatt, Director of Google Chrome Enterprise EMEA, to discuss how research conducted by Dr. Sutton-Parker forms the foundation of Google’s ChromeOS and ChromeOS Flex sustainability strategy and how this is helping customer across the globe to drive climate action.

Speaking at the annual executive MBA lecture hosted by Warwick Business School’s Professor Frederik Dahlmann, mature students will hear how Chromebooks are driving computer energy efficiency and how the new ChromeOS Flex offering from Google is extending device lifespans.

The strategies are based upon Dr. Sutton-Parker’s initial research that discovered ChromeOS uses 20% less energy than comparable operating systems and that replacing Microsoft and Apple operating systems on devices nearing their end of life with ChromeOS Flex can reduce procurement costs by a third by displacing purchasing cycles.

Initially identifying why sustainable IT is important in context with climate change, the presentation will offer case study evidence supporting the sustainability strategies enabled by ChromeOS including Nordic Choice Hotels and the Royal Borough of Kingston and Sutton Council.

Further to hearing from all Justin and Michael, the students, many of whom are responsible for leading sustainability strategies in global 2000 companies and the public sector, will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss focus areas such as sustainability related legislation, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and corporate net zero aspirations.
