Px3 End User Computing Carbon Footprint & Electricity Calculator
Use this tool to create reports accurately defining the carbon footprint, electricity consumption and utility costs of your organisation’s end user computing devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets and monitors.
Input your device inventory data by model and quantity using the intuitive database query that accesses thousands of models dating all the way back to 2009. Add contextual data relevant to your retention and use policies, such as device use location and how long you keep devices for and you can quickly produce data that shows:
- Annual device electricity consumption (kWh/y)
- Annual device electricity costs (you select the currency)
- Annual and Lifespan device carbon footprint (kgCO2e)
- Device scope 2 electricity consumption GHG emissions (kgCO2e)
- Device scope 3 supply chain (production, transportation, end of life processes) GHG emissions (kgCO2e)
- Annual carbon offset value (number of trees required to sequester the emissions)
“I especially like the ability to make life cycle emissions calculations. The tool seriously simplifies calculating the climate footprint of our ICT inventory and I know I can trust the numbers behind it.”
Kjetil Neergaard, Green Tech Manager, Strawberry Hotels, Norway
Use the application to:
- Comply with sustainable ICT GHG emissions reporting requirements
- Generate baseline carbon footprint data to model sustainable IT strategies that reduce GHG emissions and reduce procurement and utility costs on average by 32%
- Highlight device GHG hotspots by model, device type and even location
- Calculate your annual device electricity costs and plan for future improved efficiency and utility reduction
- Compare end user computing emissions by site locations or operational role
- Produce annual end user computing GHG emissions values to substantiate improvements year on year
“The tool gives us the ability to get an emissions value for the entire laptop/desktop estate in seconds”
Sustainability Manager, UK Central Government Department
The Px3 EUC Carbon Footprint Calculator
Developed during PhD research with the University of Warwick Computer Science faculty, the calculator uniquely includes metrics to account for human-computer interaction when power draw is at its highest. The methodology and algorithm was invented by our CEO Dr. Sutton-Parker.
As such, no other calculator has the ability to do achieve this, making our application a world first and the only end user carbon footprint calculator to be scientifically validated.
Already measuring over 5 million devices, the application is used by global technology companies such as Google and Microsoft, leading computer eco-labels such as TCO Certified, plus well known commercial, public and third sector organisations across the globe.
